The Impact of Cannabichromene on Your Health

3 min read

We’ve all heard of THC and CBD, but you may be surprised to learn that there is another primary cannabis compound that has been under-researched. It’s called CBC, or Cannabichromene.

CBC is derived from cannabigerol acid, or CBGA, which is the “mother” of all cannabinoids in the plant. Throughout the plant’s lifecycle, natural enzymes convert CBGA into three other cannabinoids: THC, CBDA, and CBCA.

CBC is the third primary cannabinoid in marijuana and is commonly overlooked compared to THC or CBD. But it significantly impacts your health, including pain relief, mood enhancement, and neuroprotection.

Research has shown that cannabichromene works with the endocannabinoid system to suppress inflammation and reduce the inflammatory response. It also reduces the production of cytokines that cause chronic inflammation.

In a study that compared the effects of CBC and THC, researchers found that CBC had a more substantial impact than THC alone. This is a result of the entourage effect.

In addition, look for where to buy CBC because it inhibits the uptake of anandamide, which can positively affect many different health conditions. This means that CBC can help to fight against depression, anxiety, cancer, and other ailments by activating pathways in your brain.

Pain Relief

While pain is a common symptom of many conditions, it’s often difficult to treat. Fortunately, cannabis has proven to offer effective pain relief that may not lead to an addiction to strong opiates.

CBC is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid; studies have shown it can reduce pain. Unlike THC, CBC does not activate the CB1 receptors in our endogenous cannabinoid system (ECS) but interacts with other pain-relieving receptors and targets.

CBC is also a potent anti-inflammatory, inhibiting inflammation of the joints and other body tissues. It works by reducing the levels of inflammatory chemicals in the bloodstream and improving the function of our endocannabinoid system, which produces naturally-produced cannabinoids. Its anti-inflammatory effects may be related to its interaction with anandamide, an endocannabinoid our bodies have naturally. It also inhibits the uptake of anandamide, which allows it to stay in the bloodstream longer. These effects are believed to help alleviate chronic and neuropathic pain.

Anxiety Relief

Anxiety is one of the most common symptoms patients report using medicinal cannabis. It is also a widespread and chronic condition that can be treated successfully with cannabis.

This study investigated the relationship between chemotype and anxiety relief activity among medical marijuana patients. To do this, we surveyed patients receiving cannabis from a single source and asked them to identify the most or least effective strains for relieving their anxiety.

Sleep Improvement

Sleep issues can occur for several reasons, including an underlying medical condition. If you’re experiencing restless legs syndrome, snoring, or gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) at night, talk to your doctor about possible causes and treatment options.

CBD is a natural sleep aid shown to help improve sleep in some people. While it’s unclear exactly how it works, studies have found that CBD increases total sleep percentage and reduces REM sleep latency.

In addition, CBD can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. It also can help you wake up more refreshed in the morning.

Whether you’re looking for a new way to sleep or need an existing treatment, CBD is a safe and natural option that doesn’t have the same adverse side effects as over-the-counter sleep aids. If you want to try CBD, follow your doctor’s instructions and only take the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.
